Review Meeting #24

Here we go again, report from meeting number 24!

This time to the Leggenda teams we added special guests from 1940's 😱😱

Down below reports and pics of some of the games:

Dynamo Moskow 1945 - Sparta Prague 1991     1 - 1

First timer Dynamo came all the way from 1945 Soviet Union to take Leggenda teams. Many books have been wrote about their 1945 tour of UK ( "Passovotchka - Moskow Dynamo in Britain 1945"  - by David Downing) telling the story of the beautiful passing game displayed by the russians and man, they performed! In a tough but well fought match they tied with a talented Sparta Prague from the 90's. The goals happened in quick sequence, cechs took the lead.

Dynamo Moskow 1945 - Liverpool 1946    1 - 1

Second game for the Dynamos against this time a Liverpool side from the 1946 champion of Britain.
Another tie game with many chances from both sides. Everything happened in the first half and many more goals could have been scored if it wasn't from the great goalkeeping and bad luck.

Uruguay 2018 - Colombia 1990     1 - 4

La "Celeste" completely wiped out by an amazing and cynical colombian side from the 90's. Muslera just wasn't on top of his game and it showed, his disastrous performance led to a harsh defeat in the first southamerican derby on the night.

Paraguay - Argentina 1978  2 - 0

Second upset on the evening as the tough Paraguayans topped the "Albiceleste" world champion of the 1978 World Cup in Argentina. Ardiles and Kempes were not effective as usual and the host in red and white striped shirt penetrated way to easily in the Argentinian defence.

See you next time with flat bases!

Blütenfest Biesdorf 2019 - We were there!

June the first was that time of the year when the SC Berlin thanks to the kindness of the Biesdorf Stadtteilcentrum has a stand at the Biesdorf Blütenfest.

It was warm but this did not stop Nico Müller to show up both Saturday and Sunday, it definitely stopped the others though =). Good job Nico!

We had many guests as people passing bye were fascinated by the flicking game and tried it themselves, they had fun and so did we.

It was also the chance to play outdoor which is always a treat. This year we customized the field even more with adds and boards, and attended in full SCB gear.

Review Meeting # 22

We are really enjoying the Leggenda Platinum teams lately, last night we had a blast playing 3 games of 12m for half.
Here some of the match reports:

Nigeria 2018 - Chile 1962           2-0

Sturdy Nigeria displayed good possession and cynical finishing taking Chile by surprised with counter attacks. Also, Chilean players didn't punch anybody in the face, this time...

Hungary 1986 - Cechoslovakia 1962   1-1

A revival of eastern Europe derbies from back in the days of the iron curtain.
The "Magyars" played a better first half displaying good passing, it all lead to the 1-0 lead scored by Tibor Nylasi. The second half was all for the Cech, hence the tie game,

Manchester City  -  Liverpool 2-1

What could have been a title's final in Premier League reflected the actual result in term of success as the lads from Manchester, blue moon side, took the game and the crown.

See you Thursday the 16th as we anticipate a session!

Review meeting #21

In the meeting number 21 we reinstall and test our Astropitch, thanks to Nico, our groundsmen, as well as co-founder.

Here is his report on it:

"Today I removed all of this sticky shit from the back which forced me to wash my hands several times afterwards. Then I began to glue the Astro with watered down PVA glue which took me an hour. I only applied glue to parts of the back then pressed it down heavily and stroke away any bubbles. Then I glued the next part and so on. And voila this is the result:

After all that work I couldn’t resist to play a solo game on this newly placed Astropitch. So I fielded Chile to face North Korea according to their reported formations.

After a defensive start North Korea fired a shot at the crossbar after some sloppy defending. Chile tried a bit more after that and had a nice shot deflected over the goal. The following corner kick was delivered into the penalty box nicely and an attacker from the second row slammed the ball at the near post. A fast counter attack brought the North Korean forward into very good shooting position and he stuck the ball into the far corner of the net.

Chile controlled the better part of the second half but Korea created a lot of counter attacks. Although most of their shots came from narrow angles and were not too threatening it bought them enough time. The final minutes of the game were rather hectic. In the end the game was decided by the only goal scored in the first half.

The game proved that the renewed pitch is still very good to play on. The Leggenda HW are gliding on the smooth surface and still some nice spin movements were carried out."

See you next session!
