The Mallorca Aguilas were so kind as to having me on Thursday night for their weekly training session. They‘re a nice bunch of people and I enjoyed the evening despite being on the losing side. They‘re playing really fast, all of them!!! And the pitch (Astroturf) is fast as well. Why would you polish your bases on such a surface? I regularly overflicked my blocking flicks and in attack all the precision of the pitch didn‘t help as their defence flicks came on the dot. Well done, lads!
It was great to see that they have an own room in a sports complex where four tables are arranged permanently. Lots of Subbuteo references on the wall create a lovely atmosphere, too. And besides the playing aspect they‘ve got a collector of Subbuteo in the team. Lovely! Special thanks to Fabio who kindly took me to an fro Llucmajor. Great to meet you!
Auswärts auf Mallorca
Die Mallorca Aguilas waren so freundlich, mich Donnerstag Abend an ihrem wöchentlichen Training teilnehmen zu lassen. Sie sind ein wirklich netter Haufen und ich habe den Abend sehr genossen, obwohl ich auf der Verliererseite war. Sie spielen wirklich schnell und zwar alle!!! Und das Spielfeld (Astroturf) war auch schnell. Warum sollte man auf so einer Oberfläche seine Sockel polieren? Ich habe regelmäßig meine Verteidigungszüge überflickt und im Angriff nutzte die Präzision des Spielfelds nichts, weil ihre Verteidigungszüge auf den Punkt genau kamen. Gut gemacht, Jungs!
Es war schön zu sehen, dass sie in einem Sport-Komplex ihren eigenen Raum haben, in dem permanent vier Tische aufgebaut sind. Eine Menge Subbuteo-Bezug an den Wänden tut sein übriges zur Atmosphäre beitragen. Und neben dem Spiel-Aspekt haben sie auch noch einen Subbuteo-Sammler in ihren Reihen. Toll! Besonderer Dank gilt Fabio, der mich nach Llucmajor hin und zurück gebracht hat. Großartig Euch zu treffen!
